To My Sisters Struggling With The Wait

Dear Sister,  

Can I share something with you? I know how it feels to be in this place. To see everyone around you exceeding and excelling in different areas that you wish you were. To question who you are, your purpose, and if you’re doing life right. I get it. It’s our human nature to compare.

Even now, I have everything I could want- family, lifestyle, ministry. But something inside of me will creep up every now and again that makes me doubt myself or makes me question if I’m actually doing life right (whatever that means). Whenever these thoughts start to take root, I have to remember what God says about comparison & contentment.

God makes clear to us that in our own time He will bless us. In our time, which God has set, He will show the fruit of our labors.

We rotate through seasons and simply put, it may not be our turn to have the happy marriage and beautiful home.

Have you ever thought that the season you are in might be preparation for the next? So, what if God is keeping you where you are right now in order to get you ready for where He wants you. I know, you might say, "But Camille, I'm literally living in a season of hell". I say that "hell" is trying to teach you something-- pay attention to it.

So this is my advice to you— find the small nuggets in whatever season you’re in. There is something that God is trying to show you so don’t rush this process. It’s okay not to be where you want to be. It’s okay to slow down.

When I finally realized this, it was like being set free. I let go of needing to feel some type of control over my life and got comfortable with just being in the moment and letting God do His thing.
